How to keep your La Miséto jewellery shiny and beautiful

We do our best to ensure that our pins and brooches arrive to you nice and shiny, and we are happy to tell you what you can do to keep them so nice and shiney!

Our jewelry is made of laser-cut acrylic and wood. Although these are durable materials, they are not indestructible and it is important to handle them with care.

The brooches (with a wooden back) are packed in a nice box, we recommend that you keep your brooch in there when you are not wearing it. The pins don't come in a box, but they do give you a good excuse to shop for a nice box :-)

When you wear our pin or brooch, pay attention when you sling a backpack over your shoulders, put on your scarf or jacket or give your loved one a big hug.

Make sure your jewelry doesn't get wet. Our pins (without wooden back) can withstand a rain shower, but do not go swimming with them and try to dry them as quickly as possible. Our brooches (with wooden back) are not suitable for humid conditions because the wood can then start to deteriorate. So don't keep it in the bathroom while you take a hot shower.

Also be careful with perfumes, sunscreen, insect repellents and moisturizers. Sometimes these substances can react with the acrylic and cause discoloration or texture change. It is smart to only pin on your brooch or pin at the very end, after you have put on perfume.

Cleaning

We offer a special cleaning set that helps you keep your pins and brooches nice & shiny. The solution also adds a thin protective layer that helps prevent scratches.

Of course, you can also do it without this set! All you need is a dry, soft microfibre cloth to gently remove dust and fingerprints.

Do not use: water, glass cleaner, alcohol, cleaning products or (baby) wipes – these can damage the UV print or the acrylic.

Do not: rub hard or apply pressure – this may cause scratches.

👉 Extra tip

Got a little speck of dust or lint? A duster or a can of dry air (like for cameras) works great too.

❌ So do NOT use glass cleaner or similar products – this will cause permanent damage.
